Multi-Cloud Infrastructure Architecture
Architecting and managing a resilient, cost-effective multi-cloud infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and Vultr.
Project Overview
This project involves the design and implementation of a hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure to support high-availability microservices. The focus was on creating modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistency across Development, Staging, and Production environments.
Key Implementations
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Terraform Modules: Built modular, reusable Terraform architectures for Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, and Instance Groups.
- Configuration Management: Utilized Ansible for consistent server configuration and automated provisioning.
- Scalability: Enabled scalable multi-environment deployments (Dev, Staging, Prod) with consistent state management.
Cloud Platform Management
- Multi-Cloud Strategy: Managed resources across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and Vultr, choosing the best services for cost and performance.
- Database Optimization: Administered and optimized databases including MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Cost Optimization: Implemented cost-saving strategies such as rightsizing resources and analyzing storage usage, significantly reducing operational expenses.
Security & Networking
- Network Design: Configured VPN tunnels, BGP routing, and DNS forwarding for secure inter-service communication.
- Security: Implemented WAF, rate limiting, and SSL/TLS to protect exposed services.
- Backup: Established automated backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Technologies
- Cloud Providers: GCP, AWS, Vultr
- IaC: Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible
- Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Security: Cloudflare, IAM, WAF
